Here goes

I recently felt the urge to write, about the way I see the world and more. So here goes.

Everything has a start. Saw Batman: The Dark Knight today. Thats as good a start as any. What isn't is the obvious observation that if Heath Ledger indeed lived the role he played, it wouldn't be a surprise if he committed suicide. Rather I think what I would really like to talk about is how though I was never a fan of super hero or action flicks I end up loving both Nolan's attempts. I think he achieved that very nice dose of aspiration and realism, both factors that have achieved successes in their own right but rarely have coexisted together.
Wodehouse has often said that just when you feel really braced about things fate quietly slips the lead in the sock. In other words, just when you feel things are going right, the upheaval comes along. Though he said it in his characteristic comic fashion, shorn of humour, its the poignant reality of life. Bruce planned to give up everything and have Rachel, Fate and Rachel had other plans. And that supreme agent of chaos, so masterfully portrayed by Ledger is nature's way of putting her plans to action. Rachel's plans for Harvey didn't come to a lot either. Emotions and the pursuit of happiness was their undoing.
We all are super heroes in our own universe and suffer the same fate of loneliness. And I will miss Rachel. Harvey did have a point. Someone you love facing death and saying things will be alright when they surely cannot be, is too twisted a situation to not scar someone.
I take back a definite fondness for sacrifice from this film. As I did from Snape. Its just that it makes you wonder where reel life ends and real life begins when you will have to be at the losing end of the bargain. Beginning life as a working adult, I hope I bear it stoically when my time comes
